How to prepare for a weekly Troop Meeting

  1. Review the weekly meeting plans from the PLC meeting
  2. Check the meeting plans against the requirements to make sure we are teaching something the Scouts need to know
  3. Make sure we are consistent with themes
  4. Discuss the weekly plan at the PREVIOUS troop meeting so that patrols are aware of their assigments
  5. Review Patrol assignments – Program Patrol – flags, song, skit.  Service Patrol – works with QM to make sure a) meeting is setup b) instructional materials are present c) meeting place is left better than we found it.  Instruction Patrol – has the instructors there and ready to teach.  Game Patrol – has the game prepared and ready to run.
  6. On the weekend before – communicate with all parties and determine who will be at the meeting
  7. Mid-week – finalize who will be at the meeting at what they will do.
